07 / Get Apollo

Installed and marking in about ten minutes.

Nothing to migrate, no data to hand over, and no meeting required before you can see whether it works on your own assessments.

Download for Windows Portable (Windows) macOS · on its way

The Mac build is being prepared; the other two buttons are Windows programs. Ask us and we will tell you the day it lands.

Before you start

Two things you need.

01

A Windows computer

Windows 10 or 11. The installer is per-user and needs no admin rights, which matters on a managed college machine. A portable version runs without installing. Mac build in preparation.

02

Your own Anthropic API key

Apollo marks using your organisation’s own account, so the work goes to your account rather than ours. Create a key at console.anthropic.com → API keys. It is entered once and stored encrypted on that computer.

First run

What happens when you open it.

I

Choose a password

Apollo asks for one the first time and every time it opens, so a shared desk stays private.

II

Paste your API key

One box in Settings, with a test button that confirms it works before you rely on it.

III

Add a unit

Load the marking guide and task brief so Apollo marks against your standard, not a generic one.

IV

Drop in a real batch

Mark it, check every judgment, and export the annotated documents.

A note on the warning you will see. Apollo is not yet code-signed, so Windows shows a “Windows protected your PC” message the first time. Choose More info, then Run anyway. Code signing is in progress.
